Unicoi Outfitters' fly fishing class provides a well rounded set of basic skills to help you gain confidence in your abilities and experience a sense of accomplishment. For the individual who has decided that he wants to become a fly angler, we offer regularly-scheduled beginning fly-fishing classes, and intermediate and advanced classes scheduled based on demand. Our beginning fly fishing classes include classroom time covering gear selection, flies, knots, leaders, fishing basics, etc. The class also includes casting instruction and some time on the water.

Our typical one-day basic fly fishing class begins at 8:30 AM and continues until 4:30 PM. It introduces you to the sport of fly fishing with virtually all of your class time spent outdoors.

Our class requires only one day and costs 1/3 less than most nationally known classes. Unicoi Outfitters' one day basic fly fishing class is $150 per person, all equipment included. We provide lunch and each participant will receive a copy of "The Orvis Fly-Fishing Guide".

Additionally, class participants are eligible for a 15% discount on all merchandise purchased at Unicoi Outfitters on the day of the class. Take this opportunity to stock up on equipment and supplies needed to begin your fly fishing journey.

Fly fishing classes are held frequently during the spring, summer, and early fall. Class size is limited to a maximum of six students to assure as much one on one instruction as possible. Also, if the published schedule does not meet your needs, we are able to schedule a class at a time that meets your needs as long as we have a minimum of three students. This is perfect for family groups that would like to learn together.
